Gibb failed to establish himself in the first team on a regular basis and was used as a substitute as often as not during his first season at the club. With James Brown established on the right flank, and Ian Moore added to the squad in 2007, Gibb found himself further down the pecking order and, apart from the occasional run out at full back, barely featured in 2007/08. Halfway through that season he dropped back down a division to join League Two side Notts County on loan, and during the January 2008 transfer window he extended that loan spell to the end of the season. He was released in May 2008.
