Shane Reddish spent around 15 months at the club in the mid-90s. A versatile, hard-working player, Reddish spent time in defence and midfield and even had a turn in goal when Brian Horne was sent off in a league cup tie against Arsenal. Injury hampered the latter part of his stay at the club and he was released in 1995. After leaving Pools, Reddish had a brief spell in Norwegian football before moving to Ireland where, after a couple of spells at Dundalk, he laid the foundations for a post-playing career when he accepted a player-manager role at Ards.
