Right back Bass arrived at Pools in the summer of 2001 and looked a promising signing having played over 80 games for Birmningham City. Unfortunately for Bass, he found himself out of the first team after an encouraging first couple of months, and he struggled to regain his place before leaving the club in 2003. He then had a spell in Malaysia before returning to England where he found employment nearer his West Country roots.
