Jack Ross arrived at Pools in the summer of 2004 as Neale Cooper`s only new signing of the summer. A right-back who could also operate in midfield, Ross had previously been the club captain at Clyde. Ross was employed as a right-back during his time at the club and generally gave a good account of himself during a difficult season which was punctuated by spells of injury and homesickness. After failing to settle in the area with his girlfriend, Ross spent the latter part of the 2004/05 season back in Scotland on sick leave. He returned to the club in the summer of 2005 when it was agreed that it would be better for all parties if his contract was cancelled.
