Board put faith in Carr
Having been running the first team on a caretaker basis for over six months, Jackie Carr was handed the job properly on this day in 1932. Carr's main task was to sort out a leaky defence that had struggled with changes to the offside rule. He managed to guide the club to three respectable midtable finishes before leaving his post in 1935.
