| Having already added three players with higher division experience to his squad, Pools manager Martin Scott added a fourth in the form of ex-Sunderland and Cardiff defender Darren Williams. With most of the squad that finished sixth still in place, the new additions gave the supporters cause for optimism about the new season. |
