Striker Kevan Elliott became one of the youngest players to play League football for Pools when he made his debut as a 17-year-old in a 3-0 defeat at Lincoln in 1976. During the next 18 months Elliott played a further 26 times for the first team, scoring just once. On leaving Pools, Elliott played for a number of overseas clubs, including spells in Belgium, Hong Kong and New South Wales. But it was on Australia`s west coast where the striker enjoyed the most success. He gained a reputation as one of the finest strikers the Western Australian State League had seen, finishing top scorer in 1984 and 1986. When the League celebrated its centenary in 2002, Elliott was voted one of the century`s 100 finest players by the West Australian Football Hall of Fame committee.
