Willie McStay spent the early part of his career at Celtic alongside his more celebrated brother, Paul. His spell at the Vic was brief, playing just three games at right-back while on loan from Notts County. He later returned to Scotland for a time before taking over as player-manager at Irish League side Sligo Rovers, who he led to a domestic treble before accepting a job on the coaching staff at Celtic.
