Tymon made it as far as the bench for the first team`s matches at Fleetwood Town and Oldham in 2008/09 but, with other strikers ahead of him in the pecking order, he went on loan to Newcastle Blue Star in February 2009 in order to get some games under his belt. He soon continued his goalscoring habit, netting three in his first two starts for the Tyneside club. He continued knocking them in when he returned to Pools, with four goals coming in his last three reserve games of the season.
2009/10 was a more difficult time for Tymon. With a larger first team squad, he found himself very much on the fringes, unable to command a regular place even for the reserves. He made just three more starts for the second string, scoring once, before being released in May 2010.
