Centre half Joe Tait was a regular for the youth team from the age of 15 and clocked up more than 40 starts for both the juniors and the reserves during his time at the club. His performances saw him rewarded with a professional contract in the summer of 2008. Tait benefitted from the new rules that allowed seven substitutes on the bench for cup games and he was an unused substitute in the Johnstones Paints Trophy match against Leicester as well as three FA Cup ties including the win against Stoke City.
Tait also made it as far as the bench for four league games in the second half of the 2008/09 season, but he didn`t get on the pitch for the first team during his time at the club. He was released in the summer of 2009.
