Bird flies the nest
Manager John Bird ended his eight-year association with Pools by quitting to take the manager's job at York City. The likeable Yorkshireman had done a decent job, with Pools winning about a third of his games in charge. Bird spent three years at Bootham Crescent before managing Halifax.
