Chris Llewellyn

Chris Llewellyn spent his early years at Norwich City where he made over 150 appearances. His performances earned him call-ups to the Welsh natioanl squad and he made substitute appearances against Malta and Tunisia in 1998/99. His time at Norwich ended in disappointing fashion as he found himself first injured and then loaned to Bristol Rovers. He was eventually released from Carrow Road and signed for Wrexham. He spent two seasons in North Wales at a difficult period for the club that eventually ended in administration and, hindered by a 10 point deduction, relegation in 2005.

Llewellyn had caught the eye of Pools fans in March 2005 when he had been the main creative force behind Wrexham`s 6-4 victory at the Vic. Martin Scott moved in the summer to bring Llewellyn north to Hartlepool.

In a season in which Pools suffered relegation, Llewellyn was a frustrating presence. He was employed both up front and wide midfield and, while he showed occasional glimpses of what he was capable of, these glimpses were too few and too far between. His spell at Pools ended in June 2006 when he re-signed for Wrexham.
