Bullock`s first season with the club was a disappointment. As Scott`s side struggled badly on the field, Bullock was in and out of the team and struggled to make the impact that was expected of him, given his good reputation. In 2006/07, with Pools back in League Two and with Danny Wilson now in charge, Bullock improved. He was still an irregular member of the first team but he didn`t let anybody down when called upon, and he played a good supporting role in the promotion campaign.
The 2007/08 season began with Bullock still on the sidelines, and he agreed to loan moves at Mansfield Town and Bury in a bid to play first team football. Bury wanted to make the move permanent but the player turned down the chance and returned to Victoria Park, only to go on loan yet again a few weeks later, this time to Bradford City. His time at Bradford was a success and he signed for the Bantams on a permanent basis in January 2008.
